Rest here, as though sheltering from the rain.
A place to wait out the rain.
Kakuozan, Nagoya. A hidden atelier at an undisclosed location.
An owner qualified by ITEC (UK) curates a bespoke experience of scent and time, perfectly tailored to who you are in this moment. There is no need for guarded words or forced conversation. Simply let your thoughts settle. Breathe in slowly, and breathe out. This is a sanctuary dedicated to helping you reclaim those simple, essential rhythms of life.
Philosophy
Reclaiming the “clarity” of the air after rain.
The air after a rain shower is pristine because the dust and heat of the atmosphere have fallen to the earth with the droplets. What we offer here is a process of "subtraction" to regain that very clarity.
The olfactory sense connects directly to the brain; it is an organ that allows for no deception. For this very reason, overpowering scents can sometimes become a burden.
At La Pluie, we employ a unique metric called the "Quiet Level" in our scent design and therapy. It serves as a gauge to ascertain the "capacity" of your senses. We calibrate the density and proximity of the fragrance to suit who you are in this moment. Ensuring your senses are never startled.
Origin
The Meaning Behind the Name
"La Pluie" is the French word for "rain". There are torrential downpours, and there are rains that fall without a sound. Just as no two showers are ever alike, the state of your mind and body today is entirely different from what it was yesterday.
Our aim is to unravel those fleeting thoughts and sensations that are difficult to put into words, and quietly seek the scent that aligns perfectly with them.
Bespoke perfumery and aromatherapy. This atelier exists for that very purpose.
